The fishing pier and nearby parking will be busier than usual on May 5 and May 9, due to special events. 

Construction Alerts

April 17, 2026 - Electrical work is underway near the park entrance and headquarters. Interruptions to electric service may occur. Exercise caution in their work area.

April 1, 2026 - We are improving some of our campsites. Expect intermittent closures for sites 1 - 24 and intermittent water disruptions during the upgrade. Watch for maintenance equipment on the east end of the island.

Jan. 27, 2026 - Habitat restoration and marsh wetlands construction will begin in June 2026. This project will not affect campsites but expect maintenance equipment on the west end of the Island.

Water Conservation Alert

Nov. 14, 2025 - Please use water sparingly for drinking, cooking, and in restrooms. Bring your own water or buy bottled water at headquarters.
