No Cash Accepted

March 20, 2020 - All units of the park are not accepting any cash transactions, including self-pay. Day visitors and campers must purchase and print park permits online or use credit cards for payment (Birch Creek Unit only). Access to the Birch Creek Unit is through the fee booth at the park entrance. 

Newman's Bottom Parking

Feb. 1, 2020: Newman’s Bottom parking area is now open. The road to the parking area has changed; the single-lane road narrows in places. Drive slowly and be courteous to other users. Trailers are NOT allowed at the Newman Parking area. Please park only in designated areas.

Trailway reopens to horses

Feb. 1, 2020: The Lake Somerville SP Trailway is again open for hikers, bikers and horseback riders. The area around Flag Pond, CR 125, CR 140 and the Sandhill are open to all users. 

 

Equestrians can only access the Trailway from Nails Creek, as repairs continue at Birch Creek. Obtain permits at Nails Creek Headquarters. You must possess a current negative Coggins test for your horse. Equestrian parking for the Trailway is permitted at the access gate on CR 125 and CR 140.
