Hatchery Repair Projects Completed (Regions C, U and N)

Several repair projects at TPWD fish hatcheries were completed in February, 2006. One hundred acres of pond liners were replaced at the hatcheries in San Marcos, Corpus Christi and Possum Kingdom. $2.9 million of Proposition 8 bond funds paid for these critical repairs. The pond liners were replaced because they had reached the end of their life expectancy and were no longer functioning properly. These repairs will enable the hatcheries to maintain production levels, restore water conservation measures and resolve some operational issues at the facilities.
