Texas Game Warden Training Center Fundraising Underway

Project planning and a capital fund raising campaign are well underway for the new Texas Game Warden Training Center to be constructed in Hamilton County. The Police Activities League of Texas donated the land to TPWD last year. So far, $3.7 million in private funds have been raised by the Texas Game Warden Association in cooperation with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation. In addition, the project will be funded with the proceeds of the sale of the 50th street Game Warden Academy in Austin. Plans for the new facility include an armory, gymnasium, administration, maintenance and education buildings, guest house, cadet cabins, two staff residences, dining hall, water rescue training pool, emergency vehicle operations course and firing range.
