TPW Commission Meets March 26-27

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission will meet in Austin to consider a full agenda on March 26-27.

On Wednesday, the Commission will discuss a number of items including proposed changes to hunting and fishing regulations for the 2008-2009 seasons. Staff will share public comments received through public hearings across the state and through the TPWD internet site. Also on Wednesday, commissioners will hear an update on the implementation of recommendations by the State Auditor’s Office, a briefing on the Hueco Tanks State Historic Site, and an overview of TPWD outreach and education programs.

On Thursday the Commission is scheduled to take action to finalize proposed changes to hunting and fishing regulations for the 2008-2009 seasons. The commission will also finalize selection of a new internal auditor and is scheduled to take action to amend advisory committee rules. A briefing is also scheduled to update commissioners about nuisance aquatic vegetation.

Governor Perry Appoints Ralph Duggins To TPW Commission

Governor Rick Perry appointed Ralph H. Duggins of Fort Worth to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission in February. Duggins is a senior partner at the law firm of Cantey Hanger (Austin, Dallas, and Fort Worth) where he specializes in civil and commercial litigation. Duggins is a graduate of Southern Methodist University and the University of Missouri School of Law, and serves as a member of the Supreme Court Advisory Committee, a Director of the Lena Pope Foundation, a Director of the Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show and a director of JPMorganChase Bank – Tarrant County. His appointment runs through February 1, 2013.
