Service Description: Any trails may be closed or re-routed without warning. Check with local park staff about the status of a specific trail: https://tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/. This dataset contains polylines and attributes of public trails on Texas State Parks and is designed to provide information about trail locations and characteristics to the public user. Each trail segment has park name and primary trail name assigned and only trails designated as official are displayed. Mile distance values are calculated on each trail segment. Trail use types are: biking, equestrian, hiking, multiuse (hiking/biking/equestrian), multiuse (hiking/equestrian), multiuse (hiking/biking), OHV (off highway vehicles) and paddling trails on lakes or rivers. These official trails are vetted by park staff, who work with Texas Parks & Wildlife|State Parks|Natural Resources|Planning & Geospatial Resources (TPWD|SP|NR|PGR) staff on a rolling basis to update trail data. Though trails contained in this feature service were carefully edited with the best available information, there is no guarantee to the accuracy or timeliness of the data. These data are provided “as is” and might contain errors or omissions. The user assumes the entire risk associated with its use of these data and bears all responsibility in determining the intended use of these data.
