Shore fishing sites can be found on many small lakes, as well as the bays and the Gulf of Mexico. Some sites have public piers and wheelchair access.
Freshwater lakes contain a variety of fish to catch such as bass, catfish, sunfish and carp. Texas Parks and Wildlife stocks many lakes with channel catfish each year, and some are stocked with rainbow trout in winter. Saltwater anglers can catch Atlantic croaker, sand trout, spotted seatrout, southern kingfish, red drum and other fish.
Buying a license is easy! They are sold in sporting goods stores, gun shops, discount stores, bait and tackle shops, and department stores throughout the state. Search locations
