Tree Oyster
Isognomon bicolor
Tree oysters are one of many animals found on artificial reefs that usually live on rocks, jetties and piers. These oysters use tough fibers called byssal threads to attach their purple and white shells to the reef. They often live inside empty barnacle shells or in the spaces between living barnacles.
