3rd Annual Crab Trap Cleanup Clears More Than 3,000 Traps

AUSTIN, Texas — With the close of the third annual crab trap cleanup, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and hundreds of volunteers have removed at least 3,571 abandoned or lost traps from the Texas coast, with a few results still coming in. The number is a slight dip from last year’s total of 3,838.

Pursuit Ends in Seizure of Nearly 2,500 Pounds of Pot

MARFA, Texas – Brewster County Game Warden Ray Spears was on patrol recently in Presidio County when he observed what appeared to be a spotlight out in a pasture at a ranch coming from a Ford Excursion. When he saw the vehicle leave the pasture and take off on Highway 90, he attempted to stop the vehicle, and the chase was on.

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, TPWD Conduct Waterfowl Enforcement

AUSTIN, Texas — U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) special agents and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) game wardens worked cooperatively to address waterfowl hunting violations in Colorado, Wharton and Calhoun counties during the regular 2003 and 2004 waterfowl seasons.
