    April 25, 2020 – The park is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This includes day-use areas and boat ramps.

    Newman's Bottom Parking

    Feb. 1, 2020 – Newman's Bottom parking area is now open. The road to the parking area has changed; the single-lane road narrows in places. Drive slowly and be courteous to other users. Trailers are NOT allowed at the Newman Parking area. Please park only in designated areas.

    Trailway Reopens to Horses

    Feb. 1, 2020 – The Lake Somerville SP Trailway is again open for hikers, bikers and horseback riders. The area around Flag Pond, CR 125, CR 140 and the Sandhill are open to all users.

    Equestrians can only access the Trailway from Nails Creek, as repairs continue at Birch Creek. You must possess a current negative Coggins test for your horse. Equestrian parking for the Trailway is permitted at the access gate on CR 125 and CR 140.

    May 17, 2020 – The following areas are closed due to lake flooding, damage and repair projects:

    • The Isle du Bois Unit pavilions and the equestrian trail north of Bluestem camping area.  
    • The Johnson Branch Unit pavilions
    • Some campsites and camping areas
    • The Greenbelt sections of equestrian trail south of Elm Form Park are closed.  The Greenbelt multiuse trail is closed from Hwy 428 Park to Hwy 380 Park.
