IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT ANNUAL PUBLIC HEARING

The Annual Public Hearing is the opportunity for any member of the public to address the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission (the Commission) about any issue within the jurisdiction of the Commission and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. As always, a large crowd is expected for the 2015 Annual Public Hearing which will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2015. Therefore, to ensure that the Annual Public Hearing proceeds in an orderly manner, please note the following:

  • This is a public hearing and open to any who wishes to attend.
  • Live audio from the hearing room can be found on the Department’s website: http://tpwd.texas.gov/business/feedback/meetings/
  • Unfortunately, seating in the commission room and overflow room is very limited. Those wishing to follow the public hearing but do not intend to testify, are encouraged to listen online.
  • If you do wish to speak, in an effort to ensure that everyone who wishes to comment has the opportunity to comment, you are asked to observe the following Rules of Conduct:
    • The Chairman is in charge of the meeting, will direct the order of the meeting and recognize people to be heard. When your name is called, please come to the podium and state your name and who you represent, if anyone other than yourself.
    • Each person will be allowed to speak one at a time from the podium when recognized by the Chairman. Speaking time is limited to 3 minutes, unless the Chairman or a Commission member has further questions or discusses something among the Commission. The Executive Director will keep track of the time using an electronic device. When your time is up, please return to your seat so that others may speak.
    • Any written documents you have for the Commission should be given to department staff at the table located to the left of the Commission.
    • Please avoid comments that are merely repetitive. If you are part of a group of individuals who wish to make the same comment, you are encouraged to designate a representative to speak on behalf of the group.
    • Disruptive or offensive behavior will be grounds for immediate ejection from the meeting, and possible arrest and criminal prosecution.
    • By signing up to speak, you are agreeing to comply with these Rules of Conduct.
