Annual Kid Fishing Derby

Calling all junior anglers!

Come show your skills and maybe even win a prize. Don't know how to fish? No worries! We'll also be teaching basic skills. 

Please pay entrance fees at the office, then register at Lake Abilene. There are 2 age groups: 3-7 and 8-13. Prizes will be awarded to the top anglers in each age group.

There will be a limited number of fishing poles, hooks, and bobbers for loan so bring your own if possible. A small bucket will also come in handy to carry your fish to the weigh station.

Schedule:
8:15-9am Register
9-9:30am Safety briefing
9:30-12pm Fishing
12:30-1pm (approximate) Awards and prizes

No boats/kayaks/canoes are permitted to be used.
Sportsmanship, courtesy, safety, and conservation are expected from every contestant and parent.
Children MUST be present at the awards to win.
