Cooking on the Dance Floor

Learn to cook the old fashioned way!

Join us with the Lone Star Dutch Oven Society as we explore all the different foods that can be cooked in the versatile vessel that is the Dutch oven. If you’ve ever wanted to give Dutch oven cooking a try, here’s your chance. During this program, we invite you to bring your own Dutch oven and ingredients for your favorite Dutch oven dish to cook along side us. You do not need to pre-register. 

When: second Saturday of the month

Where: Abilene State Park CCC Building

Limited seating provided: Bring a chair if you have one.

Bring water and dress for the weather.

Programs are subject to location changes, postponement, or cancellation due to weather. 

Cost: Free with $5 per person park entry fee or presentation of a TPWD Annual Park Pass. Children 12 and under are free to enter the park.
