Earth Day at Balmorhea

Celebrate Earth Day at Balmorhea State Park! 🌿🌎🌱

On Saturday, April 20th, join us for a native gardening and composting workshop, where you’ll learn how to minimize your environmental footprint and create vibrant, sustainable gardens. We’ll also be planting native trees, contributing to the park’s ecosystem.

On Sunday, April 21st, roll up your sleeves for our volunteer gardening event, where we’ll beautify the park together and give some of the flower beds a refresh.

Planting and gardening portions will require only low-impact physical activity, all are welcome to participate.

To reserve your spot: Email Emily Dickerson or call the park at (432) 375-2370. Please Include "Earth Day" in the subject line and state your name, the number of people you're bringing, and which day(s) you plan to attend.

• Cost: Both events are free, but you will need to purchase a day pass at the visitor center to enter the park ($7 per person, children 12 and under are free)
• Meet: Check into the event in the shaded outdoor area of the group hall (the building nearest the pool)
• Dress: In something you don't mind getting a little dirty, we'll be hands-on planting both days
• Bring: Gardening gloves, hat, sunscreen, water bottle
