🎉 The Stars at Night are Big and Bright! Join park rangers on a tour across our galactic neighborhood
In partnership with Big Bend National Park, we are excited to celebrate 100 Years of Texas State Parks by exploring the far reaches of the universe. Park rangers will take you on a guided tour of our night sky and look at some of your favorite planets and stars through a telescope.
This program is part of our official Find Your Trail event.
Reservations are required due to limited space. Please contact Ranger Layla at layla.spurlock@tpwd.texas.gov to reserve your spot.
When: Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 8 PM to 10 PM.
Where: West Contrabando Trailhead. Located on FM 170 (River Road) approximately 7 miles from Barton Warnock Visitor Center and 40 miles from Fort Leaton State Historic Site.
Bring: Camp Chair, Blankets (it gets cooler in the desert at night), and a red bulb flashlight/headlamp.
