Join us in celebrating 100 Years of Texas State Parks!

Texas State Parks are turning 100! In celebration, we are hosting free events through out this year! Join us in celebrating at the Bastrop Field and Fun Fest on Saturday, November 4th from 10am to 2pm. Free entrance for the festivities from 10am to 2pm!

Bastrop Field and Fun Fest will have booths and activities from the Fort Worth Zoo, TPWD entomologist, Buffalo Soldiers, TPWD Biologist, Lost Pines Master Naturalist, Bastrop Audubon, Friends of the Lost Pines and several more!
You can start the day off by joining a Texas Master Naturalist guided hike - Predators of the Pines - or bring your bike out to decorate and join us in a bicycle parade on the paved Tree Army Trails. From 10am to 2pm you'll have time to walk around to many booths and enjoy plenty of fun activities.

Event Times
10am - Guided Master Naturalist Predators of the Pines Hike - 1 mile hike on paved Tree Army Trails. Meet at "Guided Hike" wooden sign at front of playfield.

10:00 -10:30am - Decorate your bike! Bring your bike already decorated or bring your decorations and decorate your bike with us on the field! We will have a few decorations available for those that need it. Get your bike ready for the bike parade!

10:30am - Bike Parade around Lake Mina Loop - Meet at the bike decorating station at the front of the playfield.

11am - Birding 101 Walk - Meet at the "Guided Hike" wooden sign at front of the playfield.

12pm - CCC History Talk and Refectory Tour - Meet at the "Guided Hike" wooden sign at front of the playfield.

12:30pm - Ceremonial Drums and Singing from local Blue Star Church Indigenous group. Located in the middle of the playfield.

1pm - Buffalo Soldiers Trap Ball Game. Located in the middle of the playfield.

Every 30 Minutes - Houston Toad Hop Sack Race behind the Bastrop City Recreation Table

10am to 2pm - Great Migratory Bird Game (behind the Lost Pines Master Naturalist table), Blacksmith and Carpenter demonstrations, Archeology Lab, Iron Riders display, Observational Bee Hive demo, Live Local Snakes, TPWD Entomologist, Biologist, Herpetologist and Wildland Firefighters.

This is one of many 100-year celebration events happening in Texas state parks this year. Entry to a park is free on the day it hosts an official 100-Year celebration event (applies to day passes only).
