Fire is natural and necessary for the health of forest ecosystems. Find out how fire and forests go hand in hand in habitat management on this Lost Pines Master Naturalist guided hike. 

Meet at the Playground at Bastrop State Park. Look for your Lost Pines Master Naturalist guide, Betty, who will be wearing a Texas Master Naturalist name tag. 

Hike is 1 mile long. The trail is moderate with rocky/sandy terrain, uneven ground, hill sections, steep sections and portions with steps. 

Bring: Bottled water, wear weather appropriate clothing and closed toe shoes. 

Program is free after park entrance fee is paid. Park entrance fee is $5 per adult. Kids 12 and under are free!
