Have you heard of the alphabet soup of the New Deal? Celebrate Labor Day weekend by joining us for a program on the laborers of loblolly and leisure in Bastrop and Buescher State Parks!

Let's celebrate the achievements of some great American workers on Labor Day Weekend! The Civilian Conservation Corps, Works Progress Administration, and National Youth Administration helped build parks and public places across the nation. Their labor and efforts are still holding strong today in many parks, including Bastrop and Buescher! Learn about these alphabet soup crews and their amazing work under the shade of a structure built by the C.C.C.

Meet: Historic C.C.C. Shade Shelter. On the Bastrop SP facilities map it will be the Group Picnic Pavilion located in Copperas Creek Campground near the restrooms.

Program is free after park entrance fee is paid.
