Curious about kayaking? Learn the basics and enjoy the beautiful resaca.

Reservation necessary, kayaks & life vests limited: Click here to reserve your spot

Be prepared with your life vest size (chest size and body weight) and choice of single (1 seat) or tandem (2 seats) kayak.

This program will last about 2 hours. Arrive 10 minutes early to get situated with your belongings and the equipment. Because this is a beginner’s program, safety and basic kayaking will be taught first on land (about 30 min) before we set out on the water. Anyone arriving late will still be required to go through the safety training/basics check. The last 15 minutes of the program will be used to clean up and put the kayaks and safety equipment away. Expect to get soaked and have fun!

  • Ages: 8 years & older, children under 13 years old must ride tandem with parent or guardians (some exceptions may apply, for questions email Ranger Bianca at bianca.banda@tpwd.texas.gov or call at (956)584-9156 x235)
  • Meet: Park Headquarters
