Annular Solar Eclipse Viewing

Join us on top of the hill to witness the "ring of fire" eclipse.
When & Where:
- 9:30am to 10am - Ranger presentation at the CCC pavilion; ranger will remain in the area during the eclipse to answer questions.
- About 10:18am - Partial eclipse will begin
- About 11:44am to 11:48am - Annular eclipse
- About 1:22pm - Partial eclipse will end
What to bring:
- Your own solar viewing device (such as solar glasses or a pinhole projector). We will not have solar glasses available to purchase.
- Something to sit on (such as folding camp chairs or a blanket). Picnic table seating is limited and available on a first-come basis.
- Plenty of water and snacks. Alcohol is not permitted.
- Sunscreen
Other Reminders:
- Solar Viewing Safety - You cannot look up at the sun/annular solar eclipse at any time without proper eye protection. Cameras and sunglasses are not safe to use for solar viewing.
- Burn Ban - Picnics are welcome! However, the park may still be under a burn ban. Please plan accordingly. No wood or charcoal grill fires.
- Parking - Parking is available on a first-come basis. Only park in designated parking areas. Keep roadways clear. Parking is available by the entrance gate, at the nature trail trailhead, by headquarters/picnic table area, and by the playground/pavilion.
