Orienteering

3:00p to 4:00p

Come learn the sport of navigation using a detailed map.

Whether you’re an experienced hiker, competitive runner, or just a family or group out for an activity in a park, Orienteering can gradually build your map-reading skills from exploring a local park full of obvious structures to navigating remote terrain with few, if any, man-made features.

Come join us to learn about orienteering and participate in exploring our park day use area and nearby trails.

Meet at HQ flag pole at 3 p.m.

Bring: water, sunscreen, bug spray and map compass (a few will be provided by the park to use)

Cost: Park programs are open to the public and free with park entrance fee ($4 per persons ages 13 and up; children 12 and under are always free! Park entry free with Texas State Park Pass). No need to register -- just show up!

*Events and programs are subject to cancellation due to weather, if cancelled an update will be made to this posting. Please contact park staff for more information and the latest updates.
