Fishing on the Bayou

Learn to cast a pole and test your fishing luck on the Big Cypress Bayou!
Accessibility: Parking will be available at the Boat Ramp. Restroom is a nearby portable toilet. Drinking water is available at fill station outside of the front office. Path to program is flat and consists of packed dirt, roots, and leaves. Many trip hazards from roots.
Program Expectations: Program will consist of a casting safety training, how to put on tackle, casting practice, ethics of fishing, fish identification, and fishing off the bank of the Big Cypress Bayou. All materials will be provided.
When: 2 - 3 p.m.
Where: Picnic area next to Boat Ramp
What to bring:
- Water
- Sunscreen/Hat/Sunglasses
- Bug Spray
- Preferred Bait/Tackle (Bait and basic tackle will be provided)
Program is included in park entry fees- $4 per person ages 13 and older, 12 and under are free. No need to register, just show up! Programs are subject to cancellation in the event of inclement weather. Cancellations will be announced on Caddo Lake State Park Facebook page or you can call park headquarters.
