Paddling Tour (Intermediate Experience & Difficulty)

Experience the beauty and mystery of the Big Cypress Bayou on this the 8-mile round-trip paddling trail!

Accessibility: Parking will be available at Boat Ramp. Portable restroom is available nearby. Drinking water is available at water spigot or HQ. Path to program is pavement and concrete sidewalk. Kayak/canoe launch is rough terrain with unlevel ground and tree roots.

Registration: Limited spots available. Register to reserve your spot. Once we reach 10-15 total kayaks, we will have to start cutting off participation. If you register and decide to cancel, please let me know so I can allow others to join.

Bring Your Own Kayak!* 

*We have 4-5 tandem kayaks and a few solo kayaks available for visitors free-of-charge who would like to participate but are not able to bring one.

After all kayaks have been reserved, you will need to bring your own kayak and life jacket. Life jackets are REQUIRED to be worn on this program even if you brink your own kayak.

Program Expectations: THIS IS AN INTERMEDIATE PADDLING CLASS! MINIMAL PADDLING INSTRUCTION. Program will cover the basic safety and paddling instruction prior to getting on the water. Life jackets are required to be worn on this program. After safety and presentation, 1-2 rangers will lead a guide on the 8-mile round-trip Hell's Half-Acre Paddling Trail. Expect the possibility of getting wet so bring clothes and shoes you do not mind getting wet. Bring plenty of water and snacks to keep you hydrated and fueled. We will take a break at the halfway point.

Program is included in park entry fees- $4 per person ages 13 and older, 12 and under are free. Programs are subject to cancellation in the event of inclement weather. Cancellations will be announced on Caddo Lake State Park Facebook page or you can call park headquarters.
