Water Quality Survey and Ecology

Join a ranger to test the Big Cypress Bayou water quality and learn the importance of a healthy bayou!

Accessibility: Parking will be available at Boat Ramp. Restroom is a nearby portable toilet. Drinking water is unavailable here but is available at the fill up station outside of the front office. Path to program is pavement and packed dirt/grass with a few root trip hazards.

Program Expectations: Program will consist of testing the Big Cypress Bayou for temperature, acidity, bacteria, and more. Gloves, eye protection, and washing station will be provided. A short talk on the benefits of the Big Cypress Bayou and what you can do to help will be presented by a ranger. Data will be collected as a group and will be compared to previous data.

Program is included in park entry fees- $4 per person ages 13 and older, 12 and under are free. No need to register, just show up! Programs are subject to cancellation in the event of inclement weather. Cancellations will be announced on Caddo Lake State Park Facebook page or you can call park headquarters.
