Birding Basics

Learn the basics of birding and put our birding skills into action!

Start the morning with us as we walk near Lake Theo and identify the birds we see. Park binoculars are first come, first serve.

Where: Lake Theo Restrooms

Bring: Water, and comfortable footwear. Dress for the weather. Binoculars/ smartphone with Merlin Bird ID app and/or eBird app (recommended but not required).Cost: This event is free with park admission, $5 per person 13 and older. Park admission is free with a Texas State Parks Pass.

If no participants arrive by 15 minutes after the program's start time, the program will be considered canceled.
