Creatures of Caprock: Nocturnal Edition

Explore Upper South Prong Trail after dark with a ranger!

Come along with a ranger to explore a portion of the South Prong trail on the canyon floor. We will look and listen for critters who are active at night! Download iNaturalist to record any animals or plants we see at night! This helps us know what is here during the different times of year!

Where: South Prong Trailhead.

Difficulty: We will only go on a portion of South Prong which is about 1 mile total. The trail is moderate with loose pebbles in the creeks.

Bring: Water and closed-toed footwear. A flashlight or headlamp with a red light is recommended but not required.

Cost: This event is free with park admission, $5 per person 13 and older. Park admission is free with a Texas State Parks Pass.

If no participants arrive by 15 minutes after the program's start time, the program will be considered canceled.
