Girl Scout Weekend at Penn Farm

Join Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas for Girl Scouts Love State Parks Day!

When: Saturday, September 24, 2024, from 6:00 PM-9:00 PM

Where: Penn Farm Parking Lot

Bring: Water and a snack if you need one. Sunscreen is also recommended!

Cost: Free with $7 per person park entry fee or presentation of a Texas State Parks Pass. Children 12 and under can enter the park for free.

6:00pm-7:00pm The Fast and the Furriest at Penn Farm Amphitheater

Why do beavers make dams? What are turtle shells made of? What animal has the best hearing? Bring all your burning questions about local wildlife to our ranger as we examine what animals share our parks and neighborhoods with us. Skins, skulls, fur, and feathers! See (and touch!) all this and more

7:00-7:45pm Sunset Viewing on the Talala Trail

Take a quick hike through the prairie to a scenic overlook above Joe Pool Lake to enjoy a view of the sunset!

7:45-9:00pm S’mores and Campfire Activities at Penn Farm

Gather ‘round the campfire on the historic Penn Farm to finish off the day with some tasty S’mores!
