Instruction will be provided for this Kayaking 101 program.
Children under 10 cannot ride alone and must be accompanied by an adult in a tandem kayak. Life jackets will be provided and worn by all participants. You are welcome to bring your own kayak(s) and life jackets that are Coast Guard approved.
Borrowing a kayak? Reserve your kayak today! Ask about available kayaks to use when registering. Make a reservation for a double or a single seater kayak by contacting alicia.o'connor@tpwd.texas.gov or call the park office, (903) 395-3100 to register. PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED for participants reserving a kayak.
Meet at Lone Pine Boat Launch Parking Lot at 9 a.m.
Bring: shoes that can get wet, weather appropriate clothing, bug spray, and drinking water.
Park programs are open to the public and free with a paid park entrance fee of $5 per person ages 13 and up; children 12 and under are always free! Park entry is free with the Texas State Park Pass.
