Take a moment to collect your thoughts. Then stay out after dark to see how bright the stars are here.

Stop by Park Headquarters and pick up your self-guided Nature Journal and your self-guided tour map of the stars.

Record your nature encounters in your journal. Later, take advantage of our dark park and look up at the twinkling stars.

Your eyes may take 15 to 20 minutes to adjust to the dark. Dress for the weather and make sure you are comfortable, especially if you plan to stay out long. Bring a blanket or a comfortable chair with you. Once you have found your viewing spot, gaze upwards.

Cost: Park programs are open to the public and free with a paid park entrance fee of $5 per person ages 13 and up; children 12 and under are always free! Park entry is free with the Texas State Park Pass. No need to register—just show up!

*Events and programs are subject to cancellation due to weather; if cancelled, an update will be made to this posting. Please contact park staff for more information and the latest updates.
