Bird Discovery Walk
Tue, October 22, 2024
Come learn about all the interesting birds that call this park home or are just passing through.
The Davis Mountains are a well known destination for birds (and birders). Join us for a bird walk to see what's flying about. You will become acquainted with our year-long residents (Acorn Woodpeckers, Woodhouse Scrub-Jay, Montezuma Quail) and see migratory species passing through. Meet park hosts, Steve & Sue, at the Interpretive Center. From there, the group will walk towards the Emory Oak Wildlife Viewing Area. This is an easy .5-mile walk along pavement.
Meet: At the Interpretive Center
Bring: Walking shoes, water, hat, sunscreen, binoculars (if you have a pair)
Cost: Free for campers, Indian Lodge guests, or day users. Daily entrance fee is $6.00/adult, or free for the carload with Texas State Park Pass
***Please see our current program flyers posted throughout the park, and on our Facebook page and Instagram page to confirm what programs are happening during your visit.
