Perseid Meteor Shower Party

Come enjoy this summer meteor event up on Skyline Drive under the dark skies of West Texas.

We'll celebrate this major summer meteor shower up on Skyline Drive. Meteor showers are a special treat especially out under the darkest skies around. The waning gibbous moon will obscure a lot of the fainter stars. That's why we're holding this event before the moon rises (10:49pm). We will also point out constellations in view and share other celestial knowledge. 

Meet: At the far end of Skyline Drive by the CCC Rock Lookout (a 10-minute drive from headquarters)

Bring: chair, jacket (if chilly), bug spray, binoculars, camera, dog-friendly

Cost: Free for campers or day users w/ permit - daily entrance fee is $6.00/adult, or free for the carload with Texas State Park Pass
