Come on a guide hike to the past! Learn about the rock art at Sunburst Shelter

Requirement: Must have day pass reservations and must have completed park orientation to attend Sunburst Shelter Hike.

Cost: free with park admission

Meet: Office at 9:15 am

There are only 12 spaces on van.

Hike: expect to moderately strenuous hike. Will be hiking on loose gravel and over large boulders for about 3miles.

Tour duration: 3 hours

What to wear: Clothing that is appropriate for the weather and terrain such as long sleeve shirts and pants and closed-toe shoes.

What to bring: small backpack to carry gear, plenty of water, snacks and walking sticks or hiking poles, bug spray, sunblock camera and binoculars.

Tour reminders: 

  • There are no restroom facilities nearby rock shelter.
  • Pack out all trash
  • No pets are allowed on rock art tours.
