Come celebrate Free Fishing Day with the City of Kyle at this Youth Fishing Clinic and Hooked on Fishing Derby at Lake Kyle Park.
This kids fishing event is open to children 6 years to 12 years of age. Each child attending the clinic MUST be accompanied by an adult. There is no charge to attend or participate.
Registration includes rod and reel combos. At the end of the Clinic, children will collect items for their tackle box.
- Attendees will learn the basics of fishing, including:
- Basic Tackle and Fishing Knots
- Fish and Bait
- Casting Skills
- Fishing Regulations and Safety
- Ethics and Conservation
Fishing licenses are not required on free fishing day.

A Sign-in/Release form MUST be signed by a parent or guardian upon arrival.
All youth participants MUST be accompanied by an adult or guardian during the entire event.
Participants should bring sunscreen, a hat, bug spray, closed-toed shoes or boots, camera, fishing gear as needed, drinks and snacks.
