Join a Park Ranger around a campfire as we uncover the mysteries of the moon.

Gather around a cozy campfire and learn about Earth's only natural satellite: the Moon!

How does the moon effect our everyday life? Why does the moon appear in phases? Do werewolves really come out during the full moon? Learn about moon myths and facts, and even look at the moon through the telescope (weather permitting).

Meet: In the Day-Use Area (behind Kona Ice)

Bring: Camp chair or blanket, warm layers (dress for the weather), water or snacks, binoculars (optional)

Note: Dogs are permitted at this event but must stay on leash at all times.

This event is free with the purchase of a day pass or overnight camping permit. These can be reserved at TexasStateParks.ReserveAmerica.com. Adults 13+ are $8/person; children 12 and younger are free.

For severe weather, this event will be cancelled. Stay up to date via our Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter accounts.
