Step back in time and walk in the footsteps of early Texas settlers on this guided nature hike along the Lake Trail.

Discover how pioneers used native trees, shrubs, and plants for food, medicine, shelter, and survival.  From yaupon tea to birch baskets, learn how the natural resources of East Texas shaped daily life and frontier ingenuity. Perfect for families, history buffs, and nature lovers alike!

Meet at the Gazebo and wear clothes appropriate for the weather and bring water.  This program is weather dependent.

Program is free with a Texas State Parks Pass, Parklands Passport or Daily Entrance.  Daily entrance is $3.00 per person (13 years and older), 12 years and younger is free.
