Step into the past and experience what life was like at a 19th-century Texas frontier Fort. Learn how cultures crossed paths here at the Fort Leaton over the decades.

Join Ranger Arian at Fort Leaton to learn all about life in the 1800's abobe trading post. Life was simpler yet more complicated at the same time. Understanding the people’s struggles and challenges based on their cultures and their practices helps us learn how life was before modern amenities.

Learn about the upkeep of the Fort Adobe. Get your hands dirty by making some simple pottery out of clay or beads to trade in the trade office.

What to expect: A hands-on tabling event where you can play in the dirt and make some beads or adobe bricks.

When: Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 9am-11am

Where: Fort Leaton State Historic Site

Bring: Water bottle and sunscreen always recommended.
