Stahr Seck
(432) 229-3613, x302

See forces of nature at work, get your hands dirty, and test out your trail engineering skills at this geology program.

Have you ever wondered how park trails withstand so many journeys being taken on them or how they are protected from harsh weather events? Swing by the Fort and learn about weathering, erosion, and deposition in this hands-on program with Ranger Stahr. You will get the chance to build a footpath just in time for it to be tested against one of the most destructive forces of nature... water. It's going to rock!

What to expect: A hands-on tabling event where you can play in the dirt and learn about park geology.

When: Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 9am-11am

Where: Fort Leaton State Historic Site

Bring: Water bottle and sunscreen always recommended.

Cost: Adults 13 and older, $5; Children age 12 and under, free admission. Park admission is free with a Texas Parks Pass.

Programs are subject to location changes, postponement, or cancellation due to weather. Check our Instagram or Facebook stories for the most up-to-date information on program details.
