What Goes Bump in the Night

6:30p to 8:00p
Fri, February 16, 2024
Stahr Seck
(432) 229-3613, x302

Join Ranger Stahr to explore what night owls (some are actual owls) call Big Bend Ranch home!

Are you afraid of the dark?... Don't be! We know it's easier said than done, but this event aims to dispel fear of the outdoors after dark through the use of all our senses. Notably, we will hear of the wonders of bat parenthood, smell desert rain, and see how our eyes compare to our resident owls.

What to expect: A ranger-led educational program with games, activities, and fun for all. Please note that it gets very dark in the park, and we will be asking for attendees to turn off all lights and cover all device screens. We have no intention to spook you and will have extra lights for those who need them.

When: Friday, February 16, 2024, from 6:30pm-8pm

Where: Closed Canyon Trailhead parking lot

Bring: Water, flashlight or headlamp (red lights preferred), and any cold weather clothing you need to stay warm.

Cost: Adults 13 and older, $5; Children age 12 and under, free admission. Park admission is free with a Texas Parks Pass.

Programs are subject to location changes, postponement, or cancellation due to weather. Check our Instagram or Facebook stories for the most up-to-date information on program details.
