Last Sunday Hike - Lazy Cow

Join a park ranger on a guided hike through the Eastern foothills of the Franklin Mountains.

This hike is a moderate 3 mile loop of the Lazy Cow trail in the Northeast. From the lazy cow trailhead we will begin going north to the Roundhouse and then loop around through the eastern foothills of the mountain.

 Bring: water, snacks, hiking boots/shoes, and comfortable clothes.

 Optional: binoculars, hiking stick, camera, and a map.

 Meeting location: Lazy Cow trailhead. Drive north on Officer Andrew Barcena Rd until it dead-ends into the trailhead. Look for the white TPWD truck and the Ranger on duty.

 Fee: $5 for adults 13 years old and up; $0 for Texas State Park Pass holders and for children 12 and under.

 Directions:

From highway 54, take the exit toward Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, and turn onto Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Turn west onto Jon Cunningham Blvd, then right onto Officer Andrew Barcena Rd. The road will dead-end into the parking area.
