Step back in time and explore the rich history of Galveston Island with our engaging presentation on the early peoples who once called this land home. Join us for an insightful program featuring local resident Dr. Wardle!

Historical Insights: Learn about the daily lives, culture, and traditions of the early peoples of Galveston Island.
Replicas: Get an up-close look at hand-crafted dioramas of Cabeza de Vaca's raft and other historical scenes from the island.
Interactive Experience: Engage with knowledgeable presenters and gain a deeper understanding of the island's fascinating past.

What you need to know

  • Bring: Water, weather appropriate clothing and sunscreen. 
  • Meet: Beach day-use area; grassy turf and concrete sidewalks and seating areas
  • Cost: Entry fee is $5 for adults and FREE for children 12 & under. Park entry free with a State Parks Pass.
