Prairie Adventure Hike

Join a prairie expert for an adventure through the remaining 1% of coastal prairie habitat.
Begin your prairie adventure in the Nature Center with a habitat discussion. The rare coastal prairies of Galveston Island host wonderful wildflowers and creatures galore. Continue on this less than 1-mile hike to see what plants and animals make up this unique habitat. By the end of the hike, learn how you can be a prairie defender!
This hike has very little shade, so hats and sunglasses are highly recommended.
- Bring: Sunscreen, bug spray, water, weather appropriate clothing and comfortable hiking shoes.
- Meet: Nature Center
- Cost: Entry fee is $5 for adults and FREE for children 12 & under. Park entry free with a State Parks Pass.
