The indigenous people of coastal Texas shaped the contemporary culture and history of this state.

The Karankawa people of coastal Texas had unique methods of bow making that allowed them to range into central Texas. This created vast trade networks that brought them into conflict with others throughout the state. Join Ranger Jonathan Regina on this exciting journey through Texas history. 

This program has very little shade, so hats and sunglasses are highly recommended. 

  • Bring: Sunscreen, bug spray, water, weather appropriate clothing and shoes.
  • Meet: Nature Center
  • Cost: Entry fee is $5 for adults and FREE for children 12 & under. Park entry free with a State Parks Pass.
