First Day Kayak

First Day Paddle: Take your first kayak trip of the year or your first one ever at Garner State Park. Learn some basics of kayaking then take a guided trip down the Frio River.

Where to meet: at the dam at 2 pm

What to bring: All kayaking equipment is provided. Wear warm water-resistant clothes and shoes you can get wet. We recommend having a change of clothes and towels available.

Who should come: First time kayakers are welcome; the Frio is a great place to learn. Children under the age of 18 need to be accompanied by a parent. Reservations are required contact Ranger Jake at (830) 834-0419 (event may be canceled due to cold or inclement weather).
