Big Tree Birding (Registration Required)

Come along with us to view birds at the Big Tree Natural Area!
What will you see beyond the Big Tree? Join our park hosts for a bird tour in an area of the park that is otherwise closed to the public. We'll observe birds in a variety of habitats including live oak forests, coastal prairies, marshes, and bay shorelines.
When: Fridays at 8:30AM
Registration: Registration is required for this program due to limited seating on the tram. Click here to sign up now.
Meet: Meet at the Day Use parking lot. *Note the different meeting location from the winter programs.*
Bring: Binoculars, water, comfortable walking shoes, bug repellant, camera, and weather-appropriate clothing. The park has loaner binoculars available while supplies last.
Note on the tram: We can accommodate up to 9 visitors on the tram, and there are three people to each seat. You may be sitting in close proximity to other visitors.
*There are no facilities available at the Big Tree Natural Area.
FYI:
- Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.
- Program is free with park entrance ($5/person, children 12 & under are free) or Texas State Parks Annual Pass.
- Reserving your day pass in advance is strongly encouraged and can be done at TexasStateParks.ReserveAmerica.com. Use self-pay station when office is closed.
