Woodland Bird Walk

A bird walk through the live oak forest.
Join our knowledgeable bird hosts for an exploratory walk through the Live Oak-Red Bay woodlands of Goose Island State Park. You'll learn about and identify the birds we see on our route, which includes a stop at the bird viewing area.
When: 8:30am
Registration: Registration is not required for this program.
Where: Meet at the Warbler Way feeding station.
Parking: Limited parking available at the restrooms. More parking is available at the Turks Cap trailhead.
Bring: Binoculars, water, comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, camera, and weather-appropriate clothing. The park offers a limited number of binoculars available for loan on a first come first serve basis.
Terrain: Be prepared to walk up to one mile over fairly even terrain. For accessibility questions, email sara.rock@tpwd.texas.gov
FYI:
- Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.
- Program is free with park entrance ($5/person, children 12 & under are free) or Texas State Parks Annual Pass.
- Reserving your day pass in advance is strongly encouraged and can be done at TexasStateParks.ReserveAmerica.com. Use self-pay station when office is closed.
