Discover the birds that call the shorelines of Goose Island State Park home!
Birding park hosts Les and Jane are back! Join them for an exploratory bird walk along the shorelines of Goose Island State Park. You'll learn about and identify the birds we see on the route, which includes saltwater marshes, bays, and shorelines with many south Texas specialties likely to be seen.
When: Wednesdays & Saturdays from 8:30-11:00 A.M.
Where: Meet at the Day Use Area
Bring: Binoculars, drinking water, comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, and weather-appropriate clothing. The park offers a limited number of binoculars available for loan on a first come first serve basis.
Terrain: Be prepared to walk about 1.15 miles over mostly even terrain. For accessibility questions, email sara.rock@tpwd.texas.gov
FYI:
- Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.
- Program is free with park entrance ($5/person, children 12 & under are free) or Texas State Parks Annual Pass.
- Reserving your day pass in advance is strongly encouraged and can be done at TexasStateParks.ReserveAmerica.com. Use self-pay station when office is closed.
- Program may be cancelled if no participants are present within 10 minutes of the start time, or in the case of inclement weather.
