Start the new year with a guided hike along the bayfront.
First Day Hikes are an annual tradition, inspiring visitors to spend the first day of the year outside. After the hike, we'll pass out the First Day Hike stickers!
When: 2:00-3:00pm
Where to meet: Day Use Picnic Area parking lot
Bring: hydration, comfortable shoes, bug spray, dress for the weather.
Length of hike: 1.5 miles over flat, uneven terrain. Zero elevation gain.

Pets: Polite, leashed pets are welcome!
FYI:
- Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.
- Program is free with park entrance ($5/person, children 12 & under are free) or Texas State Parks Annual Pass.
- Reserving your day pass in advance is strongly encouraged and can be done at TexasStateParks.ReserveAmerica.com. Use self-pay station when office is closed.
