Hike and Seek

Learn about the plants and wildlife around you using the "Seek" smartphone app!

Take your nature knowledge up a notch with Seek! Use the power of image recognition technology to identify the plants and animals all around you. Earn badges for seeing different types of birds, amphibians, plants, and fungi and participate in monthly observation challenges.

Where: Meet at the Turks Cap Trailhead near site 157. This is the end near the Youth Group Area and the Warbler Way restrooms.
Bring: a charged smartphone, walking shoes, sun protection, bug spray
Length of hike: 1 mile total over fairly even terrain. No elevation gain.

Details:

• Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the program.
• Program is free with park entrance ($5/person, children 12 & under are free) or Texas State Parks Annual Pass.
• The program may be canceled if no participants are present within 10 minutes of the start time, or in the case of inclement weather.
• For groups larger than eight, please contact Ranger Sara for a private event
