First Day Fishing

Start the new year off right by spending some time outdoors!

First Day Hikes are a nationwide program to encourage outdoor activities. Join a ranger at the fishing pier for some outdoor fun!

We'll have rods available on a first come first serve basis thanks to the Tackle Loaner Program! Whether you're an experienced angler, or have never been fishing, there's room for everyone!

When: Jan. 1, 2:30-4 pm

Where: Fishing Pier

Bring: Sun protection, hydration, your own tackle, and a chair if you want to sit.

FYI:

• Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program. Children under two years of age must be seated on the lap of a guardian.
• Pets are not allowed on the tram.
• Program is free with park entrance ($5/person, children 12 & under are free) or with a Texas State Parks Annual Pass.
• Large groups please contact Sara Rock (sara.rock@tpwd.texas.gov) for a private event.
• Program may be cancelled if no participants are present within 10 minutes of the start time, or in the case of inclement weather.
