Great Texas Birding Classic - Big Sit!

Help us compete in the biggest, longest, wildest birdwatching tournament in the U.S.!

What is the Big Sit? It's one of several categories in the Great Texas Birding Classic where we'll identify as many birds as possible within a 50-foot circle.

Stop by anytime 8am-2pm to meet the team, Groovy Goose Group, and learn about one of the most popular hobbies in the nation. This will be a great opportunity to learn about bird identification, field guides, and mobile apps.

The circle will be located on the west end of the island near the observation deck. We'll have a scope, and loaner binoculars for those that don't have any.

Bring: Sun protection, water, bug spray, and your curiosity and/or knowledge!

Where: West end of the island near site #44. Limited parking available, overflow parking will be in front of the restrooms between sites #32 and 33.

FYI:

• Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.
• Program is free with park entrance ($5/person, children 12 & under are free) or Texas State Parks Annual Pass.
